1. Before you begin
Prepare a host for the Printrio application and database, plus network access to the printers you want to manage. For production, plan backups, persistent storage and a way to apply updates safely.
- A Linux server, mini PC or other supported container host.
- A supported Printrio release and matching deployment instructions.
- Klipper printers reachable through Moonraker from the application host.
- Persistent storage for application data and the database.
- A backup destination and a plan for secrets and network access.
2. How the pieces fit together
Printrio acts as a management interface. Klipper handles printer firmware and Moonraker exposes printer APIs. Keep printer connectivity on a trusted network and grant only the access the application requires.

3. Prepare Moonraker
For each printer, identify its Moonraker URL and verify that the Printrio host can reach it. Use a stable hostname or internal IP. If Moonraker access control is enabled, configure appropriate trusted access or authentication.
- Confirm the printer is online in its existing interface.
- Test network reachability from the host running Printrio.
- Do not publish Moonraker directly to the internet.
- Use a reverse proxy and authentication if remote access is required.
4. Deployment checklist
- Choose the released version and follow its version-specific installation instructions.
- Configure persistent volumes before starting the application.
- Store secrets outside source control and limit access.
- Connect one test printer before adding the rest of the fleet.
- Verify backups and test restoring data before using Printrio for important records.
5. Troubleshooting
Printer is unreachable
Check the Moonraker URL, host networking, firewall rules and whether Moonraker is responding on the trusted network.
Data disappears after an update
Check that persistent volumes are configured correctly and that the application is writing data to the mounted location.
